Meet The Team

One of the challenges for doctors as they embark on establishing a practice is finding the right partners and support staff. At Barfield Animal Hospital, there is a synergy between the physicians and their team that can be felt from the moment you walk in the door. The academic certifications and in-field training of Drs. Barker and Tepp are perfect complements, providing a depth and breadth of veterinary knowledge and experience you can trust.

Our Doctors

Dr. Grey Barker
Dr. Grey Barker is a native Tennessean. Born in Humboldt, he has spent his entire life in the volunteer state. Dr. Barker attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. While at UT he was a member of the Volunteer Football team and was twice selected to the academic all SEC team. Making their home in Murfreesboro, Dr. Barker and his wife Rhiannon, a lifelong resident of Rutherford County, enjoy life with their son Harold Grey and daughter Lillian. Rhiannon teaches middle school math in Rutherford County, and as a family they enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Lisa Tepp
Dr. Lisa Tepp graduated from the University of Wisconsin, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Graduated from Healing Oasis Wellness Center School of Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy. She then worked for 6 years as a full-time associate in a general practice for small animals in northern Wisconsin. Recently, she moved to middle Tennessee with her family, and is currently working at Barfield Animal Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. In addition to an interest in providing all around high-quality veterinary care, her special interests include the following: dentistry, client education, anesthesia, and pain management.

Dr. Tepp met her husband in veterinary school, and he is currently working as a veterinarian in Nashville. They enjoy spending their time with their young daughter and son - and if they get lucky, they also enjoy camping, hiking and travel.

Office Manager/Licensed Veterinary Technician

Cari Pont
She has been a veterinary technician for over ten years. She earned her associate's degree in Veterinary Technology in 2003 at Cosumnes College in California. After being transferred to Tennessee in 2004, she joined the Barfield Animal Hospital Family. She obtained the position of Senior Technician, and in September 2006 became the office manager. She lives in Rockvale with her husband and 17 animals (six dogs and 11 cats). If you have any concerns or questions feel free to contact her.
