Boarding Service

If your job demands that you travel or you just need to get away, let Barfield Animal Hospital be your pet sitter for a day, a week or a month. Our spacious 2,000-square foot boarding facility is tailor-made for our feline friends and canine companions. All of our boarding area is climate controlled, ensuring that all of our guests are housed in creature comfort. We have designated areas for cats, small dogs and large dogs.

All boarding animals are served Purina EN twice daily (unless other food is provided). All of our animals are allowed to exercise two to three times daily. For your convenience, we provide Sunday holiday pick up between 4-5 p.m. Discounted baths available to our boarding guests.

In order to board, all dogs and cats must have a negative fecal exam within 12 months of boarding. We also require all dogs to be current on distemper/parvo, rabies and bordetella vaccines and for all boarding cats to be current on FVRCCP/FeLv, rabies and feline bordetella.

Our Groomer

Emily Redmond
In less than five years, Emily's career as a professional groomer has taken off, and she is currently serving as the sole groomer at Barfield Animal Hospital. A Middle Tennessee native, she enjoys grooming both cats and dogs. She is a true animal advocate and enjoys finding homes for stray animals in her spare time. As for hobbies, she loves horseback riding and has several pets of her own, including three dogs (Waylon, Harry and Jakester) and a cat (Valentine).

Grooming Services

Emily Redmond manages our grooming services and is our own, in-house professional groomer. She makes sure that your pets not only feel good, but look good, too!

Our grooming sessions entail bathing your pet, clipping its nails, expressing anal glands and cleaning and flushing their ears. The pet is thoroughly bathed with hydrosurge water unit and is trimmed and styled according to breed standards. We also offer special services such as a shed-less grooming treatment. We groom all breeds of dogs and cats.

Grooming services are performed Monday – Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
